They are: - Polana Casino (Avenida da Marginal 5289, Bairro da Sommerschield, Maputo, Mozambique) Opened in 1996, this casino accepts customers from noon until 2am on Sunday thru Thursday and noon until 4am on Friday and Saturday. The casino offers a total of 4,304 square feet of gaming space, with 142 gaming machines and nine table games (including American Roulette and Blackjack). This allows the Polana Casino to get around the national law which states that casinos must be at least 50 kilometers away from a city. - Sol Libombos (Rua Principal, Namaacha, Maputo, Mozambique) This casino opened on May 30th, 1998. Located in the town of Namaacha, this casino is nearby to the border of Swaziland. Since it is over 50km from the nearest city, this casino is open to the public. Open from noon until close, this casino has 40 gaming machines and seven table and poker games (including Punto Banco, Poker and American Roulette). A 40-room hotel is also available on the property. Europeans, Chinese and Indians can also be found in the country. The official language is Portuguese, while most educated citizens are also proficient in English. A number of native languages are also spoken, including Swahili, Makhuwa, Sena, Ndau and Shangaan. Christianity is the most popular religion in Mozambique, with Roman Catholicism being the most followed denomination. Muslims and Zionists can also be found throughout the country, as well as non-Catholic Christians. |
